Joshua Tree National Park, chilling in sunny California, is a hotspot for nature lovers, drawing in loads of visitors each year. Its famous Joshua Trees, cool rock formations, and tranquil desert views make it the ultimate setting for your big day.

In this guide, we’ve rounded up some easy tips to make your Joshua Tree elopement planning a breeze. From getting the lowdown on permits to picking out the perfect spots, checking out the weather, looking into elopement packages, and more, we’ve got your back every step of the way. So kick back, take it easy, and let’s map out your Joshua Tree adventure!

Selecting the Right Airport

Getting to Joshua Tree National Park is a breeze, and there are two airport options that I highly recommend for a smooth journey. You can choose to fly into either ONT (Ontario International Airport) or PSP (Palm Springs International Airport). While Palm Springs airport may be a bit pricier, it offers the advantage of being much closer to Joshua Tree National Park compared to ONT.

If you opt for ONT Airport, be prepared for a roughly 2-hour drive to reach the park. However, if you prefer a more convenient and hassle-free experience that lands you right next to Joshua Tree National Park, then PSP Airport is the way to go. The proximity of PSP Airport makes it a fantastic choice for travelers looking to maximize their time exploring the park and minimizing travel time between the airport and their destination.

Summers in Joshua Tree can be scorching, with temperatures soaring into the high 90s and even reaching the 100s from June to September. It’s best to avoid planning an elopement during these months.
